NSW Duathlon CHAMPION

9th July 2017 | Jacqui Allen

The sun was shinning and not a breathe of wind to speak of, perfect conditions for the NSW Duathlon Champions held at Penrith regatta centre.

Competitors took to the start line ready to tackle 5km run, 20km bike drafting and 2.5km run. Jacqui set off holding a steady and comfortable pace, she looked strong and by the end of the 5km had a solid lead and it was a matter of “catch me if you can”

Jacqui nailed her race plan to perfection, as she looked strong throughout the entire race and was happy with her performance considering having not done any specific sessions to be in Peak shape!

“I just let rip from the gun and was happy to be able to get a solid Race in and push hard all the way to the finish line”

Jacqui’s win earns her the NSW Duathlon Championship, but unfortunately not being a triathlon Australia athlete and a member of the British Triathlon Team can’t claim the title.

Allen is excited with where she is at both physically and mentally. It puts her in a good position heading to challenge for a world title.
